The FA Cup fourth round kicked off at midday Saturday with an all-WSL tie between Aston Villa and Everton. Both teams have struggled for form this season and were looking for the chance to start 2024 with a victory to kick-start the season. Despite Aston Villa enjoying large periods of possession in the first half, it was Everton that were the more clinical, taking the lead through Oleson before Snoeijs claimed a brace for a resounding 3 – 0 win for the Toffees.

Newcastle United Ladies brought a huge, loud following of supporters to Leigh Sports Village for their tie against Manchester United Women. Newcastle gave a good account of themselves in the first half, and it took United almost 30 minutes to score against the team two tiers lower. United proved too strong in the end and secured a 5 – 0 win, with goals from Toone, Williams and Malard, while Parris got her name on the scoresheet twice and arguably should have had more.

Manchester City and Arsenal both delivered convincing wins against lower opposition. There was more good news for Arsenal fans, as Viv Miedema started for Arsenal as she makes her comeback from her ACL injury.
