The Women’s Euros Kicks Off

The wait for the UEFA Women’s Euros is finally over and home nation Switzerland play Norway on the opening matchday.

Spain are marginal favourites to win the Euros Championship, while England’s Lionesses and current Euros champions, will be looking to reclaim the trophy.

They will have to do it without Mary Earps, Millie Bright and Fran Kirby but they will still have a strong squad to pick from:

Lauren James is back in the England squad

Chelsea’s Lauren James returns from injury just at the right time for the Lionesses, while the Arsenal contingent will be brimming with confidence after defeating Barcelona in the Women’s Champions League Final.

England’s group is arguably the most difficult, as they will have to battle it out with the Netherlands, France and Wales for the two qualifying spots.

England’s first match takes place on Saturday 5th July against France.
