West Ham United Exodus

West Ham United Women have announced that six players will leave the club, including club captain and Australia’s first choice goalkeeper, Mackenzie Arnold.

The club took to social media to drop the bombshell, with shocked fans quick to respond with their frustration. West Ham statement:

“We can confirm that Mackenize Arnold, Hawa Cissoko, Honoka Hayashi, Risa Shimizu, Emma Snerle and Abbey-Leigh Stringer will leave the Club when their contracts expire on 30 June 2024.

Everyone at the Club would like to thank them for their commitment in Claret & Blue and wish them the best for the future.”

Update: A further announcement is released just hours later, confirming that Mel Filis will also be leaving the club. What a day for West Ham fans, as seven players leave on the same day.

Who will Mackenize Arnold sign for?

Many Hammers fans commented about the shock at Mackenzie Arnold leaving the club. Some made suggestions that she could be about to replace Mary Earps at Manchester United. There could be other possible moves in the WSL. Arsenal are reportedly interest in Aston Villa’s Daphne van Domselaar, which would mean Aston Villa would be looking for an experienced replacement.
